FINAL TUITION DUE
The final tuition payment is due in April. April invoices were sent out at the end of March. May tuition was paid at the time
of registration. If there are any outstanding balances, Donna will send you an invoice for the remaining balance. You will
still be billed for May Stay and Play at the end of April.
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION
Is your child heading off to kindergarten in the fall? If you plan on sending your son/daughter to public schools, please
call your designated school for registration information and an orientation schedule.
4CCN CAMP
We still have a few spots open for both weeks of camp. We are very excited to bring camp to 4CCN. You can register online or
stop by the office. We hope you’ll join us!

We still have openings in our 2’s classes. We have 2 spots remaining in our 3’s classes. Our 4’s
classes are currently full and on a waiting list. If you know anyone who may be interested in
learning more about 4CCN, please have them give us a call so we can set up a tour.
SPRING CONSIGNMENT SALE, THANK YOU!
A huge thank you to Brianna Teller and Tiffany Lay, our amazing consignment chairs, for all of their hard work in making the spring sale a huge success.
This year’s consignment sales totals were our highest post Covid sales on record! Their determination, marketing skills, and organization were instrumental in the success of the sale. Thank you for all you do. Words cannot adequately express our appreciation. Thanks to Donna for doing the accounting for the sale. We appreciate you! Thank you to all of our families for volunteering and making the sale a success. We appreciate you working
the sale after a long day. I am so grateful that we are able to come together to do this. I appreciate all of you and your efforts! We are looking for 2 parents that would like to learn the ropes and take over the consignment sale in the future. If you are interested, please stop by the office and let me know. Our Fall sale is scheduled for the Week of October 5th. Mark your calendars.
BUTTERFLIES
Our caterpillars are set to arrive the week of April 13th. We are excited for the children to learn
about the life cycle of butterflies.

APRIL SNACKS
The children will enjoy the following snacks this month: Goldfish and apple juice, Animal
Crackers and apple juice, Cheerios and yogurt, and 4CCN Trail Mix. Please let your child’s
teacher know if you do not want them to consume one of the snacks.
IN–HOUSE FIELD TRIPS
One of the many benefits of our semi-annual consignment sale is that it provides the funding for in-
house field trips. Last month we had Mystic Drumz and The Maryland Science Center visit us. On April 8th we are excited to have Squeals on Wheels set up a farm animal petting zoo for us to explore. On May 6, we will have Under the Sea, a learning adventure of what lives
in the Chesapeake Bay. Your child’s teacher will reach out to you if you don’t normally attend on Wednesdays. We want everyone to enjoy these special learning opportunities.
PARKING LOTS
The parking lot is extremely busy during drop off and pick up times. Please hold your child’s hand at all times.
Please do not let your child run ahead. Drive slowly when coming and going. We want to keep everyone safe!

REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2026 – 2027 school year is underway. Thank you for promoting
4CCN to your friends and families. We still have openings in some of our classes.
If you know anyone interested in enrolling their child, please have them email me at

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION:
If you are planning on sending your rising kindergartner to public school in the fall,
you will need to register them. Please contact your designated school for more information
on registration. Registration for immersion programs in now open. The application
process for the 2026-2027 school year is from February 2, 2026 to April 10, 2026.
All applications received after the 4/10/26 deadline will be added to the bottom of the
wait list in the order they are received. An MCPS ID number is required to submit the
immersion interest form. Please contact the home elementary school to submit the
documents required for enrollment to obtain the ID number.
SPRING CONSIGNMENT SALE
This year’s spring sale will be held the week of March 9th. Please mark your calendars with the

Thursday is half price day!
The Spring Consignment Sale is quickly approaching! We will have a huge selection of
spring/summer children’s clothing, plus toys, books, games, baby gear, costumes, and maternity clothes
for sale. In addition to shopping the sale, you are also welcome to consign at the sale. This is a great
opportunity to clean out your closets and support the school at the same time! If you are interested in
consigning, you will need a consignor code. Codes are $5 each. Please come to the office to pay for your
code and pick up tags, the information packet, and a pricing guide.
If you have any items you would like to donate to the sale and give the school 100 % of the proceeds
you can drop the items off in the office to be tagged by volunteers. Only donate items that you do not
want returned to you. As you know, an event of this size can only be
successful with the help of many hands. Please help us make the most of this sale, by signing up for and
completing your required volunteer shift. If you have any questions please contact Tiffany Lay and
Briana Teller at consign4ccn@gmail.com. Those of you who have signed up for volunteer hours are welcome to
shop the pre-sale on Tuesday, March 10th from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM.
SAFETY REMINDERS
Keeping everyone safe is our number one priority. Please hold your child’s hand in the parking lot
before and after school. Please remember to always drive slowly. Thank you!
MARCH SNACKS
This month the children will enjoy: cheese & crackers, veggies & dip, Cheerios & apple sauce , and
crackers & peanut butter. If there is a snack your child should not consume, please let your child’s teacher know.
PLAYGROUND REMINDERS
We welcome families to use the playground both before and after school. All families must leave the
playground by 2 PM. Please remember to clean up after yourselves. Please do not allow your child to
play in the sandbox covers. Thanks!
IN-HOUSE FIELD TRIPS
We have scheduled several in-house field trips for our classes.
March 4: Mystic Drumz will present The Legend of Marshmallow Island.
March 25: The Maryland Science Center will present Fairytale Engineering.
April 8: Squeals on Wheels will come visit us and set up a petting zoo.
May 6: Under the Sea with creatures from the Chesapeake Bay.
All of these fantastic programs are possible because of the hours you put into the consignment sales. Thank you!

Happy February! Sadly, the groundhog saw his shadow so six more weeks of winter. I would like to
thank everyone for their patience with the closures due to the recent snowstorm. We missed seeing everyone and are happy to return to a normal routine.
COMMUNITY REGISTRATION
We have been very busy touring prospective families. Please continue to let your families, friends, and neighbors know
about 4CCN. Community registration begins on Monday, February 9. Applying is easy with our online registration.
Word of mouth is our best form of advertisement. Thank you for telling your friends and neighbors about us. If you have
not registered yet and plan to return, please register before February 9th to secure your spot.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the ice cream social. We are thrilled to have Down by the Bagel perform
live music. We hope to see everyone on Friday, February 6th at 4 PM for this fun family event. If you have not already,
please respond to the sign-up genius that went out and bring a topping to share. Siblings are welcome too. We want to see
your whole family!
SPRING CONSIGNMENT SALE
The spring sale will be the week of March 9th. Planning has begun for the spring consignment sale.
The fall and spring sales are our 2 major fundraising activities at 4CCN. Everyone’s participation is required for the
success of the sale. Money raised from the sale pays for field trips, playground equipment, and maintenance, as
well as to purchase materials for the classrooms. Your cooperation helps us put on this huge event.
FEBRUARY SNACKS
This month the children will enjoy the following snacks: crackers and cheese, goldfish and apple juice, Cheerios and
yogurt, and 4CCN trail mix (cereal and raisins). Please let your child’s teachers know if there is a snack they should
not eat.
4CCN CAMP
We are so excited for camp this June. Our first week is almost full. If you are interested in signing up, you can
register through our website or stop into the office.

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a wonderful break with their families and enjoyed the holidays. I am so happy to
welcome everyone back to school. We have so many exciting things planned for the rest of the school year.
REGISTRATION
In house registration for 2026 – 2027 begins, Monday, January 12th. Registration is open to current students as well as siblings of current students. Registration can be completed online through our website. If you would rather paper registration, please stop by the office to pick up the forms. Registration is first come first served.

4CCN SNOW POLICY
4 Corners Community Nursery School follows the Montgomery County School’s closing policy.
MCPS will notify the public of the decision, usually by 6 am. If it is necessary to close early, 4CCN will
close at 11:45 AM. When MCPS is delayed by 2 hours, 4CCN will open at 11:15 am and remain open until 1:15 pm for all ages.
JANUARY SNACK
The children will enjoy the following snacks this month: Goldfish & juice, crackers & peanut butter,
Cheerios & applesauce, carrots and dip. If your child cannot consume one of the snacks, please
notify your child’s teacher.
TAX FORMS
Some of you may be able to use child care expenses as a deduction on your income tax. If this is the
case, please stop by the office for more information.
4CCN CAMP
We are excited to offer 4CCN Camp June 1 - 5 and June 8 - 12.
Our theme for the first week is Under the Sea. Our theme for the second week is Backyard Explorers.
Children will participate in science, process arts, cooking, waterplay, Arts and Crafts, Music, Games,
Stories and Centers. Registration begins Monday, January 5 and is first come, first served. Limited
spaces are available. Families signing up for both weeks will receive a discounted rate.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL
Mark your calendars for the annual ice cream social. Our ice cream social will
be Friday, February 6 from 4:00 – 5:30. We are so excited that Down by the
Bagel will be providing entertainment for this fun family event!
PARENT – TEACHER CONFERENCES
The 2, 3, and 4-year-old classes will have their parent-teacher conferences in January. Conferences will be held
on the second floor in the library. Children will have a regular school day on their conference day. A substitute
will be in the classroom for the teacher on conference days. If school is closed due to inclement weather, we will
reschedule conferences.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE CHECKLIST
BEFORE THE CONFERENCE:
Ask your child how he/she feels about school. Ask your child if there is anything that he/she
wants you to talk to their teacher about. Make a list of topics that you would like to talk about with the teacher.
Prepare a list of questions that you have for the teacher.
DURING THE CONFERENCE:
Be on time/early. End the meeting on time. Other parents will have conferences after you.
Relax and be yourself. Stay calm during the conference.
Ask the most important questions first. Ask for explanations of anything that you don’t
understand. Ask your child’s teacher for ways that you can help your child at home.
AFTER THE CONFERENCE:
Talk about the conference with your child. Talk about the positive points.
Tell your child about any plans you and the teacher created.
Keep in touch with the teacher and follow up consistently.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
If you are having a conference, it does not mean your child is in trouble.
Teachers are meeting with all of the parents. Both the teacher and family want what is
best for the child. You can help your child by working together as a team!

2026 – 2027 REGISTRATION
Enrollment for current families opens on January 12.
Registration is right around the corner. Current families are offered the chance to enroll early and secure their spot. To enroll, simply visit our website www.4ccn.org and click the Enroll now tab. If you prefer to do a paper registration, just stop by the office and we will give you the paper registration forms. All registration is on a first come, first served basis.

We are currently scheduling appointments for tours. Please help spread the word to your friends about 4CCN.

and social media. Registration for new families begins Monday, February 9, 2026.
WINTER BREAK
The school and office will close at the end of the school day on Tuesday, December 23rd and will reopen on Monday,
January 5, 2026. Stay and Play for our 3’s and 4’s is canceled on December 23. Whether you are staying close to home or
traveling, have a safe and wonderful holiday!
STAY AND PLAY
Our second Stay and Play period runs from December – February. We still have openings available. Children enjoy playing
with friends from different classes and participating in a variety of activities. Children get the opportunity to
spend time with teachers from other classes as well. We will continue to use the playground during Stay and
Play if the weather cooperates. If you are interested in enrolling in Stay and Play, please stop by the office or
register online.
PARKING LOT REMINDERS
Parking lots can be dangerous. We want to keep everyone safe. Please remember to drive slowly
through the school parking lot. Please always hold your child’s hand when walking through the parking
lot. Please do not leave children in your car unattended. Please do not park in spaces designated for no parking. Thank you!
DECEMBER SNACKS
This month we will enjoy crackers and peanut butter, cereal and yogurt, animal crackers and juice, and a
variety of snacks we’ve previously had as we clean out our cupboard before winter break.
Conferences will be 20 minutes held upstairs in the church library.
DRESSING FOR COLD WEATHER
We will continue to play outside during the winter months. This is a pleasant experience if your child
is dressed appropriately for the weather. Please make sure that your child has a warm coat, pants,
appropriate shoes, a hat, and mittens. Please make sure everything is labeled with your child’s name.
SOCCER STARS
Soccer Star classes will be held Wednesday mornings for those who have registered. Coach
Ibrahim is fantastic and the children really enjoy his classes. If you are interested in registering please
stop by the office.
JANUARY CONFERENCES
Parent/Teacher conferences will begin in January. Your child’s teacher will send an email
to explain the sign-up process. Conferences will be approximately 20 minutes in length and will be
held upstairs in the church library. Your child will have a regular school day during conferences, a
substitute will be in the classroom with the other teacher that day.
THE GREAT ZUCCHINI
Last month we had a visit from the Great Zucchini. The children loved his magic show and giggles filled the air.
Special thanks to Mrs. Kravitz for organizing this special treat for our children.
CARROT SOUFFLÉ RECIPE
Here is a recipe my family enjoys on most holidays. It is easy to make
and delicious.
Ingredients
1 lb carrots boiled until soft (I use a bag of baby carrots)
1⁄2 cup sugar
3 eggs
3 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 stick butter, melted
Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into greased (8 x 8) baking dish
Cook at 350 for about 45 minutes.
